Quick Guide

This War of Mine: The Boardgame is more of an experience than a game, but Awaken Realms has made a hybrid that is excellent in both aspects. The game is fantastic. The experience is something I had hoped for and received in full. [Note: this site is not for the video game and is not official]

1st Edition has been out for a few years. Now Awaken Realms is preparing an expanded 2nd Edition via a GameFound pledge (due for August 2026 delivery next year).

Another great game with lots of narrative is coming this fall: Rogue Angels. It is a space exploration with battles game that comes with over 1,000 pages of missions, map setups and branching story. What you do in the game has consequences and often determines what will happen next! => My Rogue Angels

Character Boards

Official from Awaken Realms: The Character Boards will be dual layer in the Special Edition and only single layer in the Standard Edition:

It’s Official – Longest Endgame Yet!

Awaken Realms has announced today that This War of Mine 2nd Edition was the longest Endgame yet! (more on that below their image):

It was previously thought that Porthaven had a longer endgame to their campaign, and I found this posted on the Porthaven Gamefound page:

Now … compare that to the official This War of Mine 2nd Edition extended time from my own screenshot just before it ended:

  1. 1 day 7 hours 48 minutes (31 hours 48 minutes) for This War of Mine 2nd Edition endgame
  2. 1 day 7 hours 28 minutes (31 hours 28 minutes) for Porthaven endgame

So, yes indeed … This War of Mine beat that previous record held by Porthaven by a good TWENTY MINUTES!

Info about Tales from the Ruined City and Days of the Siege

This is the official info taken from their FAQ:

This campaign contains everything ever released, now repackaged into three main categories:

    • – Included in the 2nd Edition Core Pledge
    • – Available in dedicated add-ons
    • – Included in the Upgrade Pack for 1st Edition owners

To help clarify where previously released expansion content now lives, here is a quick breakdown of the two most well-known retail expansions:

Tales from the Ruined City (Retail Edition) previously included:

    • Farmers, Market, Sewers, Desperate Measures, and Cat Companion → now part of the 2nd Edition Core Box
    • 3 Scenarios from Incidents → now in the Expanded Incidents Add-on
    • 2 Scenarios by Galakta → now in the Expanded Incidents Add-on
    • Additional cards (Narrative Action, Chapter Objectives) → now in the Expanded Incidents Add-on

Days of the Siege (Retail Edition) previously included:

    • Emira, Orphans of War, Dog Companion → now part of the 2nd Edition Core Box
    • War Campaign and 13 additional Location cards → now in the Forlorn Hope – War Campaign Add-on

The Pledge Manager should open Mid June, July or August

The campaign ended about 8:48pm Central USA time on May 16, 2025.

From the official FAQ:

After the campaign ends, there will be a 2-3 month delay until the Pledge Manager opens.

Therefore … Expect the Pledge Manager to open sometime after July 16 and before (or a bit after) August 16, 2025.

However … Update #17 (posted a few hours after the Endgame ended) stated that the pledge manager would open in 1-2 months … yes possibly one month earlier! So maybe as soon as June 16!

Clarifying the Furniture Pack

Confirmed by Awaken Realms: Furniture CARDS are included in the base game. The Furniture pack merely provides miniatures for the furniture depicted on those cards.
