Quick Guide
This War of Mine: The Boardgame is more of an experience than a game, but Awaken Realms has made a hybrid that is excellent in both aspects. The game is fantastic. The experience is something I had hoped for and received in full. [Note: this site is not for the video game and is not official]
1st Edition has been out for a few years. Now Awaken Realms is preparing an expanded 2nd Edition via a GameFound pledge (due for August 2026 delivery next year).

Another great game with lots of narrative is coming this fall: Rogue Angels. It is a space exploration with battles game that comes with over 1,000 pages of missions, map setups and branching story. What you do in the game has consequences and often determines what will happen next! => My Rogue Angels

Sleeves included in Veterans Pledge cover all cards
Confirmed by Awaken Realms: The Veterans pledge includes sleeves for ALL the cards. No need to buy any yourself.

Confirmed by Awaken Realms: If you want the Game Play All In pledge – get the Survivors pledge.

Acrylic Pack will work with the 1st Edition
Confirmed by Awaken Realms: The acrylic pack will work with the 1st Edition game.

Upgrade Pack is Minis Only (no standees)
Confirmed by Awaken Realms: All the stretch goals that are included in the Upgrade Pack will not be with standees – but with miniatures

Tactics is not available separately
Confirmed by Awaken Realms: Tactics is not available separately. But it IS included as part of the 2nd Edition Core Box (which means it is part of the Survivors and Veterans pledges as well)

1 Character per Player module is included in the Upgrade Pack
Confirmed by Awaken Realms: The 1 character per player mode **IS** included in the Upgrade Pack.

Artwork is being added to the Journal PLUS they are adding a new rulebook
Confirmed by Awaken Realms: The Journal will be of a higher quality material and include the new Stretch Goal PLUS they are adding some artwork to it!
PLUS … in addition to the nicer Journal … they are adding an advanced rulebook (assuming it will contain the advanced rules found in the Script Book)

Sleeved cards should fit in the insert
Confirmed by Awaken Realms: Sleeved cards should fit into the insert that comes with the game.
Note that this was not the case with the 1st Edition. However, the KMC Perfect Size (aka Perfect Fit) sleeves DID work and fit into the insert! And I like those sleeves because they are thin and more form fitting! See the past article about them that includes very short videos about the sleeves and fitting cards into the insert:

Rules remain the same in 2nd Edition
Confirmed by Awaken Realms: The rules from the 1st Edition remain the same for the 2nd Edition. HOWEVER … they ARE adding some new play modes with their own rules!

Furniture Miniatures are not included in the Core Game
Confirmed by Awaken Realms: The furniture miniatures are not included with the Core game. If purchased via Add-On they will come in a separate box (and will not fit in the main game box).
