Quick Guide
This War of Mine: The Boardgame is more of an experience than a game, but Awaken Realms has made a hybrid that is excellent in both aspects. The game is fantastic. The experience is something I had hoped for and received in full. [Note: this site is not for the video game and is not official]
1st Edition has been out for a few years. Now Awaken Realms is preparing an expanded 2nd Edition via a GameFound pledge (due for August 2026 delivery next year).

Another great game with lots of narrative is coming this fall: Rogue Angels. It is a space exploration with battles game that comes with over 1,000 pages of missions, map setups and branching story. What you do in the game has consequences and often determines what will happen next! => My Rogue Angels

Both Editions, Both Expansions (and a shirt)

Awaken Realms should begin shipping This War of Mine: The Board Game out this week to all those who purchased it during Awaken Realms special sale to benefit Ukraine!
If you purchased a copy during that sale, you should be getting the Core Game box on the right in the photo below but NOT the Kickstarter Stretch Goals (they do not have any left*). If you look closely at the photo you can see the slight difference on the cover of the box … the one on the right includes the Awaken Realms logo! The boxes on the bottom of the photo are the two retail expansions put out by Galakta. The shirt is from Red Bubble.
* Please note the main page of the Awaken Realms Ukraine Support campaign states: “Core Box DOES NOT include Stretch Goals from the campaign (unfortunately, we do not have SGs left in stock)”

Shirts (15 styles and 18 colors)

Why not wear a This War of Mine T-Shirt while playing the game?
There are 15 different T-Shirt styles plus 18 different colors!
You can click on the photos to jump to their website!
Another example (from the 15 styles):
-
Roll the black D10 in place of a color card
Perhaps you will find it tedious (as I do) to have to keep shuffling the 5 color cards merely to pick a random color! Since there already is a D10 die in the game, why not use it to select the color! Here is a card to print that lets you do just that:
=> D10 Color Selector (at BoardGameGeek)
Use that link to get the exact size printable card that you can place on top of the Colors card deck. Or just make your own card that specifies what color each die roll selects, like this:
- 1-2 Black
- 3-4 Gray
- 5-6 Red
- 7-8 Green
- 9-10 Blue
